What a wedding, I felt as though the Duke and Duchess of Trinidad were getting married. Not only did it feel royal, but it was also done military style, how happy a photographer I was...lol

There are some key essential things that, I think could be shared from this wedding for brides and grooms to learn from:

1) Stay Calm: Genesia & Joseph, have the most calm and cool personalities. A perfect example of how to take a curve ball and make something with it. Your wedding day, should always be remembered with joy, not as one of the most stressful days of your life. Which brings me to my next point

2) Organization: Delegation is a huge part of organization. Have a vision, get people on board with your vision. Have meetings. Have a meeting and bring all your suppliers together so they are all on the same page. Contingency planning is just as important as your actual planning.

Several things that Joseph and Genesia did, stood out to me as a photographer, here they come:

3) Think Outside of the Box

They had a small magazine like spread about the couple and how they met and their story. Will give you a little taste of it soon...I can actually use their tokens. How often do you, "not use", wedding tokens, it was a glass with their wedding logos printed on it, it has a new home in my ware rack : ).

4) An Amazing Dress: Designed by Su-Rae

No words need, kudos, great job, guys check out Su-Rae for an amazing custom wedding dress, that gave all the royal feels whilst accomplishing the brides vision of modesty, well done!

Here is an excerpt from the wedding article written by the bride herself, Genesia Straker!

A lot of thought and prayer took place before they made that important decision. Genesia smiles remembering how Joseph was always the perfect gentleman. From opening doors and helping persons at roadsides to insisting on telling her father of his growing affection for Gen very early. Jo made it his business to be open with her parents. Joseph says he knew he needed to set a high standard since Gen has 4 sisters and 2 brothers looking on. He remembers once telling a friend – that is my future wife – as Genesia walked towards them. Genesia on the other hand, recalls how easy it was to be loved by Joseph, ‘he always made everything comfortable for me, and would wait even if he was tired or I was late’. They both admitted that their journey has not been a bed of roses but they wouldn’t give up the love they share for the world.
